Berlin Unplugged was a project in which multi-disciplinary students from Los Angeles unplugged themselves from all digital devices. Students worked outside the realm of the internet and had to discover Berlin entirely without the safety blanket of a digital device. Students were challenged contemporary design methods by playing with both new and old methods of working. Students experimented with many types of traditional media, including film photography, typewriting, and photocopying. Students held two exhibitions in both the Berlin studio and the Art Center campus that displayed work made during the duration of the project and documented their experiences.
